AAUW of Portland actively participates in fundraising for our scholarship endowment at Portland Community College. Our local scholarship is administered by the PCC Foundation and goes to a returning student in the STEM field, who demonstrably supports the mission of AAUW, and who has plans to transfer to a 4-year institution. National AAUW Fellowships & Grants: AAUW Funds
One of the world’s largest sources of funding for graduate women, AAUW is providing more than $6 million in funding for more than 320 fellowships and grants to outstanding women and nonprofit organizations each academic year. AAUW of Portland actively participates in fundraising for AAUW Funds. Due to the longstanding, generous contributions of AAUW members, a broader community of women continues to gain access to educational and economic opportunities — breaking through barriers so that all women have a fair chance. Our AAUW Funds contributions were visibly returned to our community during the 2022-23 and the 2023-24 academic years. Aiding promising women to excel in their fields and to become leaders in business, government, academia, community activism, the arts, and sciences, can make a huge impact. We are so proud to support these outstanding women.
